About
Meet Chris
Hi, I’m Chris Axberg. But you can call me Ax.
My Mom and Dad moved our family to the Metroplex in 1971, settling in Carrollton in 1984. I grew up attending church at St. Catherine’s, playing baseball and soccer at WJ Thomas Park, and playing basketball at Mary Heads Carter Park. Carrollton is where I worked my first jobs waiting tables, delivering pizza, and volunteering at St. Vincent Charity in the summers. Carrollton is home.
I left Carrollton to attend Loyola University in New Orleans where I studied Political Science, graduating with a BA. As a college student, I volunteered on political campaigns that successfully elected conservative candidates to both local and state office. This is where my love and passion for public service began, and that passion continues to this day.
With school loans to pay and eventually a young family to support, I choose business over politics, starting my career in Silicon Valley at the dawn of the digital/internet age. I spent the next 25 years of my career working primarily in digital media, marketing, and e-commerce. I served as a senior executive at companies like Yahoo!, McAfee, Reader’s Digest, and The South China Morning Post. These opportunities allowed me to travel the world, living in places such as New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. I worked as a global executive, managing multi-million-dollar budgets, and growing multi-national companies with great success.
But my ultimate goal was always to return and raise my family back home in Carrollton. And I was blessed to move my wife Katia, daughter Lucie, and son Liam back here in 2012. Now they call Carrollton home too. Lucie dances at Dance Express, Liam plays Lacrosse at Hebron Lacrosse (LAX). We walk our dog Milo and play basketball near our home in Oak Creek Park.
Now, with a successful digital consultant business based in Carrollton, I can devote my knowledge and experience to the Carrollton City Council and give back to the community where I am raising my family… just like my parents did nearly 40 years ago.
